In order to meet market demands and preserve water resources, the company carefully seeks to reduce the volume of biological and physical/chemical sludge generated by over 15 thousand customers. These solutions provide thermal drying, which reduces disposal and energy consumption costs.
The group works considering that the trend to decrease the volume of sludge more and more is irreversible, particularly by means of thermal drying systems, capable of dewatering the sludge up to 95%.
In this sense, the company dedicates itself to creating solutions for thickening and dewatering the sludge generated by municipal or industrial effluents, biomass and waste treatment plants.
The Pieralisi thermal dryer is the solution to minimize or even eliminate this problem. This is the most technologically advanced alternative, capable of reducing the amount of water in the sludge to rates that vary from 5 to 20%, also making the material sanitary by eliminating pathogens. Once properly processed, the sludge gains commercial value and can be sold to farmers, reducing operating costs of water treatment stations.
Pieralisi’s technology is based on the principle of water evaporation by means of convective heat exchange. The resulting sludge reaches 95% of dry solids. The dryer can be powered by natural gas, LPG, fuel oil, biosolids, biomass, biogas, waste gases and water vapor. For water treatment stations, the use of biogas generated at the plant is recommended.
Pieralisi is one of the largest manufacturers of thermal dryers worldwide. The dryer is fully automated and easy to operate. In production for over 20 years in Spain, and now available in North America.They are successfully sold in the following countries: Italy, Spain, Turkey, Portugal, Morocco, Greece, Brazil and Argentina. In Brazil, Pieralisi dryers are in operation in five water treatment stations in Rio de Janeiro: Betim (Copasa), Ilha do Governador, São Gonçalo, Pavuna and Sarapuí. The water treatment station in Alegria (RJ) implemented a center to dry the sludge coming from several water treatment stations, using biogas, with capacity of 9.0 ton/h of processed sludge.
As for technical assistance, Pieralisi has a Service Center with high-technology equipment and a specialized team.
